Kuldeep Rises to No. 2 in Purple Cap Race; Rahul, Jaiswal Climb Orange Cap Charts

Delhi Capitals’ dramatic Super Over victory against Rajasthan Royals led to a significant change in the IPL 2025 Purple Cap race. Kuldeep Yadav, who took 1 for 33 in the match, has climbed to second place with 11 wickets in six games. He now trails only Noor Ahmad of Gujarat Titans, who remains the leader with 12 wickets and has held the top spot for a while.

While Mitchell Starc grabbed headlines with his brilliant Super Over heroics, he managed just one wicket during the match. That performance placed him among several bowlers who currently have 10 wickets. This list includes Hardik Pandya (MI), Prasidh Krishna, R Sai Kishore, and Mohammed Siraj (GT), along with Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana (KKR).

The Orange Cap leaderboard remains steady at the top, with Nicholas Pooran (LSG), B Sai Sudharsan (GT), and Mitchell Marsh (LSG) holding the first three positions. Just behind them are Shreyas Iyer (PBKS), Virat Kohli (RCB), and Suryakumar Yadav (MI), keeping the pressure on the leading trio.

KL Rahul has climbed to seventh place after scoring 38 against RR, taking his tally to 238 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s third fifty of the season lifted him to 233 runs and eighth place. Sanju Samson, who retired hurt after scoring 31, follows closely with 224 runs at No. 9.
