Ravichandran Ashwin’s YouTube channel will no longer cover Chennai Super Kings (CSK) matches for the remainder of IPL 2025. The decision was announced by the channel’s admin, citing the recent controversy and the need to maintain the platform’s integrity.
“Considering the recent discussions on this platform, we want to be cautious about potential misinterpretations,” the note stated. “Therefore, we’ve decided to stop covering CSK games—both previews and reviews—for the remainder of this season.” The channel also clarified that while diverse views are encouraged, the opinions shared by guests do not reflect Ashwin’s personal stance.
The move comes after a recent episode featuring Prasanna Agoram, a former data analyst for South Africa and RCB, sparked backlash. Agoram questioned CSK’s choice to field Afghanistan wristspinner Noor Ahmad over experienced Indian spinners like Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. While Ashwin does not appear in or participate in these specific discussions, the episode drew sharp criticism online. The video was eventually taken down following intense social media reactions.
The issue gained further attention when CSK coach Stephen Fleming was asked about the controversy after his side’s loss to Delhi Capitals. “I have no idea,” Fleming replied. “I wasn’t even aware that Ashwin had a channel, so I don’t keep up with that kind of content.” That’s irrelevant.”
Ashwin’s channel has gained popularity for its analytical cricket discussions and regular insights from guests. However, the platform has now opted to avoid CSK-related content to prevent further misunderstandings and maintain its focus on fair, unbiased conversation.
