Travis Head will open for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their IPL 2025 match against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on April 3. The left-handed batter has been in excellent form, scoring 136 runs in three innings at an average of 45.33 and a strike rate of 191.54. As he prepares to face KKR, he is on the verge of achieving multiple batting milestones.
Head has hit 46 sixes in just 28 IPL innings since his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2016. He needs only four more to reach 50 IPL sixes, a feat no Australian batter has achieved in fewer matches. Given his aggressive approach, he has a strong chance of reaching this milestone against KKR. Additionally, he is just six boundaries away from completing 100 IPL fours, having struck 64 of them in IPL 2024 alone. This season, he has already hit 18 fours in three innings, making this milestone likely within his next innings.
The Australian left-hander is also one six away from completing 50 T20 sixes in India. Alongside his 46 IPL sixes, he has hit three in T20 internationals played in the country. With 49 sixes in 33 matches, including five internationals, one more maximum will bring up the landmark. Furthermore, he is nearing 200 T20 sixes across all leagues. Since making his format debut in January 2013, he has cleared the ropes 194 times in 149 T20 matches. His tally includes 53 sixes for Australia in T20Is, 46 in IPL, and 61 in the Big Bash League. With just six more sixes, Head is on course to reach the 200-sixes milestone in T20 cricket.
