Gujarat Giants’ batter Harleen Deol encountered a setback in her WPL 2024 journey after sustaining a knee injury during a match against UP Warriorz. Unfortunately, this injury has forced her out of the tournament.
Positioned at sweeper cover, Harleen Deol injured her left knee while attempting to intercept a ball in the early stages of the Warriors’ innings. Despite her efforts, she was unable to continue and has been sidelined since then.
During her time in the tournament, Harleen Deol faced challenges with her batting performance, scoring 8, 22, and 18 runs in successive matches.
To fill the void left by Harleen Deol, the Giants have enlisted batter Bharti Fulmali. Fulmali, a seasoned player with international and domestic experience, will step in to bolster the team’s lineup.
Deol’s absence compounds the Giants’ injury woes, with three players now sidelined. Despite a challenging start to the tournament and a current position at the bottom of the table, the Giants secured their first victory in their last match against RCB. They now prepare to face the defending champions Mumbai Indians in their upcoming fixture.
