India’s Preparations for Pink-Ball Test in Doubt as Rain Threatens Canberra Practice Match

After securing a dominant victory over Australia in the first Test in Perth, India now turns its focus to the upcoming Pink-Ball Test in Adelaide, scheduled to begin on December 6. In their last day-night Test in Adelaide, India was bundled out for just 36 runs, and they are determined to make amends in this challenging format.

India's Preparations for Pink-Ball Test in Doubt as Rain Threatens Canberra Practice Match

To prepare for the Pink-Ball challenge, India will face the Prime Minister’s XI in a day-night practice match in Canberra. This warm-up game is crucial, as conditions in Canberra are expected to mirror those in Adelaide, helping India acclimatize to the day-night format.

However, India’s preparations could be disrupted by the weather. According to the forecast, Canberra is expecting morning rain, which could intensify throughout the day, along with a chance of thunderstorms later. The temperature will hover around 19°C, with a northeast breeze of 22 km/h. If the rain arrives as predicted, it could hinder India’s ability to practice effectively before the Pink-Ball Test.

India’s lineup will be bolstered by the return of Rohit Sharma, who missed the first Test due to personal reasons. While Shubman Gill’s availability is still uncertain due to injury, he looked comfortable in the nets on Friday and might feature in the second Test, depending on his recovery.

As India prepares for their next big challenge in Adelaide, they will be hoping the weather doesn’t get in the way of their crucial practice match.
