India’s rising star Trisha Gongadi has been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for January 2025. She was the standout performer in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, finishing as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 309 runs. Her contributions played a key role in India’s dominant title-winning campaign.

Gongadi emerged as a breakout star, showcasing her aggressive batting at the top order. She made history by scoring the tournament’s first century, a stunning 110* off 59 balls against Scotland. She finished with an impressive average of 77.25 and a strike rate of 147.14. In addition to her batting exploits, she took four wickets at an economy rate of 3.75. Her all-round brilliance earned her both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.
Other Nominees for January 2025
West Indies bowler Karishma Ramharack also earned a nomination after her exceptional performance in the ODI series against Bangladesh. Her back-to-back four-wicket hauls helped West Indies clinch a 2-1 series win. She was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for her efforts.
The third nominee, Beth Mooney, was instrumental in Australia’s 3-0 T20I series win over England. She scored 213 runs in three matches, including a match-winning 94*. She also contributed behind the stumps with three catches and a stumping. Mooney maintained a stunning T20I average of 106.50 with a strike rate of 146.89 and added 90 runs in ODIs to cap off a brilliant month.
