India wrapped up a 2-0 series sweep over West Indies with a convincing seven-wicket win on the final day of the second Test. Chasing 121, they took just over an hour and lost two wickets to complete the job, finishing with 124 for 3. The victory also marked Shubman Gill’s first series win as captain after drawing 2-2 in England. India’s World Test Championship percentage rose to 61.9%, keeping them third on the table.

KL Rahul guided the chase with a calm, unbeaten 58, capping off a strong series where he scored 192 runs, second only to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 219. Kuldeep Yadav was India’s standout bowler, taking 12 wickets across the two Tests. Earlier, India had declared their first innings at 518 for 5, with Jaiswal scoring 175, Gill 129, and Sai Sudharsan 87. They then bowled out West Indies for 248 and enforced the follow-on before the hosts posted 390 in their second innings.
On the final morning, India began needing 58 more runs. Sudharsan fell early, edging a loose drive to slip after a fine first-innings effort. Gill followed soon, hitting a six and a four before skying a catch while looking to finish quickly. Rahul remained composed, striking two sixes — a straight drive off Khary Pierre and a slog-sweep against Jomel Warrican — to seal victory.
This win was India’s tenth consecutive Test triumph against West Indies and their 122nd overall, pushing them past South Africa to third on the all-time list. With Gill’s captaincy debut yielding a clean sweep and several players in form, India’s red-ball campaign continues to gain momentum.
