In a fresh update, star Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to miss Chennai Super Kings’ upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024. Rahman has flown back to Bangladesh to process his US visa ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled for June in the Caribbean and the United States. The 18th game of the IPL, where CSK will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 5, will be without Rahman’s presence.

Rahman’s return to India is expected between April 7-9, following his visa appointment at the US Embassy on April 4. Furthermore, his absence is notable, given that he has been a key player for CSK, currently leading the wicket-taker charts with seven wickets in three matches and holding the Purple Cap.
It’s important to highlight that Rahman will only be available for IPL matches until the end of April, as he is scheduled to join Bangladesh for their five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, commencing on May 3.
Chennai Super Kings will have to adjust their bowling unit in Rahman’s absence, aiming for an improved performance after a loss in their previous match against Delhi Capitals. Currently placed third in the standings with four points from three matches under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK will seek to secure their third win of the season as they travel to Hyderabad.
