Renowned for his powerful hitting prowess, Rohit Sharma, fondly known as the “Hitman,” showcased his aggressive batting style once again in IPL 2024. He reached a significant milestone by smashing his 500th six in T20 cricket against Ravindra Jadeja of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The historic six came in the 11th over of the match, as Jadeja delivered a full delivery on the middle stump. Despite not timing his sweep shot perfectly, Rohit managed to send the ball high into the air towards deep square leg. Tushar Deshpande, positioned in the deep, attempted to catch the ball but failed to hold on, resulting in the ball crossing the ropes. This moment of frustration for Jadeja and CSK fans occurred at the lively Wankhede Stadium.
Before achieving this milestone, Rohit Sharma had already reached his half-century with an impressive boundary, displaying his ability to clear the boundaries effortlessly with some colossal sixes, including a massive 90-metre hit.
By reaching the 500-six mark, Rohit Sharma became only the fifth player in Men’s T20 cricket history to achieve this feat. Chris Gayle holds the record for the most sixes, with an astonishing tally of 1056. Following him are Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, and Colin Munro, who have also surpassed the 500-six milestone in their T20 careers.
