In the thrilling 3rd ODI between West Indies and Pakistan, Hayley Matthews once again showcased her batting prowess, scoring a sensational 141 runs to propel her team to a convincing victory. This remarkable innings, following up on her unbeaten 140 in the series opener, cemented West Indies’ clean sweep over Pakistan.

Batting first, West Indies posted a formidable total of 278 runs, with Matthews dominating the proceedings. Despite the efforts of Pakistan’s bowlers, particularly Nashra Sandhu who took 3 wickets for 54 runs, they struggled to contain Matthews. She found the boundary with ease, hitting a staggering 19 fours in her innings. Matthews’ all-round contribution continued as she also picked up 2 crucial wickets for 26 runs in 8 overs during Pakistan’s innings.
Pakistan’s reply faltered from the outset, with their batting lineup unable to mount a significant challenge against the strong West Indies bowling attack. While there were contributions from several players, including Muneeba Ali’s 38, the overall run-scoring rate was insufficient to trouble the West Indies team. Matthews’ crucial wickets of captain Nida Dar and top-scorer Muneeba Ali further dented Pakistan’s hopes.
Despite brief partnerships, Pakistan failed to build momentum, and their innings concluded at 190 all out in the 48th over. A late effort from Aalia Riaz and Fatima Sana was not enough to salvage the match for Pakistan. West Indies maintained control throughout the game, clinching victory by a commanding 88 runs.
With the ODI series now concluded, attention turns to the upcoming five-match T20I series between the two sides, all set to take place in Karachi. This will be another exciting encounter to watch, following West Indies’ dominant performance in the ODIs.
