The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season will bring significant changes to the coaching setups of several franchises. Gautam Gambhir, Abhishek Nayar, and Ryan ten Doeschate have left Kolkata Knight Riders to join the Indian team’s coaching staff, while Ricky Ponting has ended his tenure as Delhi Capitals’ head coach.

According to a report in News18 CricketNext, Gujarat Titans’ head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki are likely to leave the franchise ahead of IPL 2025. GT struggled last season, finishing eighth under Shubman Gill’s captaincy after he took over from Hardik Pandya.
Nehra and Solanki, who joined GT in IPL 2022, led the team to their maiden title in their debut season. They also had a strong run in IPL 2023, reaching the final before losing to Chennai Super Kings. However, the team missed the playoffs this year. They struggled to replace all-rounder Hardik Pandya, traded to Mumbai Indians, and missed Mohammad Shami due to his injury.
The report suggests that Gujarat Titans are in discussions with Yuvraj Singh to join the coaching staff as Nehra and Solanki are expected to depart. Yuvraj Singh has previously mentored GT captain Shubman Gill but has no IPL coaching experience.
Gary Kirsten, the Titans’ assistant coach for the past three seasons, has already left to become the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team. If Nehra and Solanki leave the franchise, other coaching staff members like Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi, and Mithun Manhas are likely to depart as well.
