Chennai Super Kings, the five-time champions, receive a boost ahead of IPL 2024 as Mustafizur Rahman, recovering from a calf injury, prepares to join the CSK camp.

The Bangladesh pacer, who sustained the injury during the 3rd ODI, announced on his social media handle X that he is set to depart for Chennai. Despite being carried off the ground on a stretcher, the injury, initially deemed severe, turned out to be minor. Mustafizur is expected to be available for the opening game against RCB.
CSK faces additional injury concerns with Devon Conway still not fully fit and doubts over Matheesha Pathirana’s fitness.
Mustafizur, previously with Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023, joined CSK for 1.5 Crore in IPL 2024 auction. CSK, as defending champions, strengthened their batting with New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. They sought replacements for the retired Ambati Rayudu.
