Gladiators Secure Second Consecutive Victory with Nafay and Hosein’s Stellar Performances

Batting at No. 3, Khawaja Nafay exhibited remarkable composure against Lahore Qalandars’ formidable pace attack, including stars like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. Nafay’s explosive innings of 60 not out off just 31 balls, comprising three sixes and four boundaries, guided the Quetta Gladiators to victory with five wickets and five balls to spare. His decisive boundary off Zaman Khan sealed the win for his team.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars posted a competitive total of 187 for 7, with opener Sahibzada Farhan scoring a resilient 62 off 43 balls. However, it was Jahandad Khan’s blistering unbeaten 45 off 17 balls, including four sixes and three boundaries, that propelled Qalandars in the death overs. Despite Jahandad’s onslaught, Gladiators’ Akeal Hosein delivered an impressive bowling performance, conceding only 17 runs and claiming two wickets in his four-over spell.

In pursuit of the target, Gladiators got off to a flying start with Jason Roy (24 runs) and Saud Shakeel (40) combining for a formidable opening partnership of 69 runs. Despite Roy and Shakeel’s dismissals, Gladiators remained steady in their chase. Even though former Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was dropped early in his innings, Gladiators successfully chased down the target, securing their second consecutive victory in the tournament.

The match showcased a thrilling display of cricket, with both teams delivering exceptional performances, ultimately culminating in the Gladiators’ triumph.
