Facing the home team, Loftie-Eaton achieved the milestone in just 33 balls, eclipsing Nepal’s Kushal Malla’s previous record by a single delivery. In an explosive innings, he amassed 101 runs off 36 balls, comprising 11 boundaries and eight maximums. Impressively, his 92 runs from boundaries set a new record for the most runs scored via boundaries by a batsman in T20Is.

Malla’s record-breaking century had been established during the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, where Nepal piled up 314 for 3 against Mongolia. Notably, it was in the same match that Dipendra Singh Airee had notched the fastest T20I fifty, accomplishing the feat in just nine deliveries.

Upon Namibia’s decision to bat, Loftie-Eaton entered the fray with his team at 62 for 3 in the 11th over. He immediately stamped his authority by dispatching two sixes and a boundary in his initial six deliveries, reaching his fifty in a mere 18 balls.

Teaming up with Malan Kruger, Loftie-Eaton orchestrated a formidable partnership of 135 runs off 52 balls for the fourth wicket, propelling Namibia to a commanding total of 206 for 4. Kruger, who had opened the innings, contributed an unbeaten 59 runs from 48 deliveries.

Furthermore, in addition to his batting heroics, Loftie-Eaton also made a significant impact with the ball, claiming 2 for 29 from his allotted three overs. As a result, Namibia successfully restricted Nepal to 186 all out in the 19th over.
