The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the passing of former chairman Shaharyar Khan earlier today in Lahore. He was 89 years old.
Shaharyar Khan held the position of PCB Chairman for two separate terms, first from December 2003 to October 2006, and later from August 2014 to August 2017. Throughout his tenure, he made significant contributions to the administration of Pakistani cricket.

In addition to his role as PCB Chairman, Shaharyar Khan also served as the team manager for the Pakistan National Men’s team during the 1999 tour of India and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the board, acknowledging Shaharyar’s dedication and service to Pakistan Cricket. He praised Khan as a fine administrator whose leadership played a crucial role in the growth and development of cricket within the country.
“In the PCB’s official statement, Naqvi stated that Shaharyar Khan’s passing is a loss for Pakistan Cricket, and they will always remember and appreciate his contributions.”
