England clinched a 3-1 T20I series victory over West Indies after rain washed out the final match in St Lucia. The game ended after just five overs, with West Indies at 44 for no loss. Evin Lewis was unbeaten on 29, and Shai Hope had 14. A heavy storm interrupted play, forcing the match’s early end at Darren Sammy Stadium.

The West Indies’ opening partnership had started promisingly, much like their dominant performance the previous day, where they chased a record 219. Lewis, in particular, was in aggressive form, hitting two sixes and three fours. However, as he was rapping a bouncer for six, he was struck on the helmet by a short ball, leading to a brief on-field concussion check. Despite this, Lewis continued smiling as he walked off the field, marking an anticlimactic end to what could have been an exciting finish.

The series saw notable performances from both teams. West Indies’ Akeal Hosein was their top bowler with five wickets in the series. England’s player of the series, Saqib Mahmood, was the leading wicket-taker with nine wickets at an average of 10.55, including an impressive 4-for-43 in the first T20I.

In terms of batting, Phil Salt was the top scorer for England, amassing 162 runs, including an unbeaten 103 in the first game. His teammate, Jacob Bethell, also impressed with 127 runs at a blistering strike rate of 173.97. West Indies’ Rovman Powell contributed 153 runs, the second-highest in the series.

This rain-affected match brought an end to an entertaining and competitive series, with England clinching the win despite the weather.
