In a standout performance, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) ace bowler, Khaleel Ahmed, played a pivotal role in securing his team’s maiden victory of the IPL 2024 season against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Visakhapatnam. Taking charge from the outset during the second innings, Ahmed made an immediate impact by removing CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad in the opening over. He continued to trouble the CSK batting lineup, eventually claiming the wicket of Gaikwad’s partner, Rachin Ravindra.

Khaleel earned the player of the match title for his remarkable spell of 2/21 in four overs, utilizing his skillful swing bowling effectively. DC clinched the win by a margin of 20 runs, courtesy of strong batting performances that saw them amass a total of 191 runs, with half-centuries from David Warner and Rishabh Pant.
Reflecting on his performance, Khaleel expressed optimism about the fruits of his labor in domestic cricket over the past few months. Emphasizing the importance of fitness and his aspirations, the left-arm pacer acknowledged the valuable lessons learned from playing red-ball cricket and expressed his ultimate goal of representing the Indian Cricket Team once again.
Khaleel and the Capitals will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 3rd at the same venue, looking to maintain their winning momentum in the tournament.
