DC assistant coach Amre comments on Pant’s net session, saying he didn’t seem rusty despite not batting for long

Rishabh Pant’s return to cricket is a sight for sore eyes! Despite a 14-month absence due to a car accident, Pant’s batting form at the ongoing Delhi Capitals pre-season camp has been nothing short of impressive. The team’s assistant coach, Pravin Amre, couldn’t hold back his praise, highlighting Pant’s classic bat swing and stating it looked like he hadn’t missed a beat.

Amre further commended Pant’s dedication and hunger for the game. He acknowledged the hard work and mental strength Pant displayed throughout his recovery year. Delhi Capitals missed Pant’s explosive batting in IPL 2023, with David Warner leading the team (who, though a great player himself, couldn’t take them to the playoffs).

With the IPL 2024 Schedule kicking off soon, there’s a slight twist for the Delhi Capitals. Their initial home games will be played in Vizag instead of their usual Delhi ground, which is currently hosting the successful Women’s Premier League. Amre expressed optimism about the high-scoring Vizag pitch, emphasizing the importance of a strong start to the tournament.

The pre-season camp has been a time for the Delhi Capitals to acclimatize to the Vizag pitch, welcome newcomers to the team, and build team spirit through practice sessions. To prepare fully for their IPL 2024 opener against the Punjab Kings in Mohali on March 23rd, the team plans to participate in additional practice matches.
