Wriddhiman Saha stepped into the role of wicketkeeper for Team India following the retirement of legendary stumper MS Dhoni. Between 2010 and 2021, he earned 40 Test caps, contributing significantly to the Indian side.

After spending two years with Tripura, Saha rejoined the Bengal cricket team for the 2024-25 domestic season. However, his return was marked by a disappointing start, as he was dismissed for a six-ball duck in Bengal’s opening Elite Group C match against Uttar Pradesh.

Throughout his career, Saha has maintained a Test average of 29.41 and has performed well in first-class cricket, averaging nearly 42. He has amassed over 7,000 runs in 138 first-class matches, including 14 centuries and 43 half-centuries. Notably, he scored three Test centuries against teams such as West Indies, Bangladesh, and Australia during his time with the national team.

Saha played his last Test for India in December 2021 against New Zealand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. As he approaches his final appearances in the Ranji Trophy, Saha’s contributions to Indian cricket and his legacy as a reliable wicketkeeper will leave a lasting impression on fans and teammates alike.
