Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has paid tribute to business magnate Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86. Tata, admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related health issues, left a lasting impact on the world.
Kohli honored the legendary businessman through an Instagram story, sharing a heartfelt message alongside a photograph. He wrote, “Forever in our hearts. Rest in peace, sir.”

Ratan Tata’s death is being mourned as a national loss. Known for his kindness and humility, he led India’s largest business group while maintaining a low profile. Many cricketers, including Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Harbhajan Singh, have expressed their condolences, reflecting the wide-reaching impact Tata had on Indian society.
Despite their different backgrounds, Kohli and Tata shared a unique bond over their love for animals. Kohli frequently shares his affection for dogs, posting numerous photos of himself caring for pets. He and his wife, Anushka Sharma, actively support animal welfare. Tata, an advocate for animal rights, initiated various projects, including allowing free entry for stray animals at Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Hotel and creating a state-of-the-art pet hospital.
On the cricketing front, Kohli recently made headlines by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar as the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs, achieving this milestone in just 594 innings compared to Tendulkar’s 623.
