Jay Shah has made history as the youngest ever chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) at just 35 years old. He will officially take on the role from December 1, succeeding New Zealand’s Greg Barclay. Shah’s appointment is a notable moment in cricket governance, aligning him with other influential Indian figures like Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan, and Shashank Manohar.

Following this milestone, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj shared his congratulations on Instagram. Siraj wrote: “A massive moment. My best wishes to @jayshah220988 Sir on being elected as the new ICC chairman. May you grow to greater heights and continue doing fine work for our sport. Congratulations 🙏.”
In other news, Mohammed Siraj has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 due to illness. The tournament’s opening round will feature matches between India A and India B, and India C and India D. The first round starts on September 5. With Siraj and Umran Malik both absent, Navdeep Saini and Gaurav Yadav have been called up as replacements.
