Opening the innings with Sahibzada Farhan, Babar gave a strong start, with the pair adding 58 runs in the powerplay. Babar dazzled the crowd with four boundaries during his knock. His milestone came in the 12th over when he hit a double off Nathan Ellis’ delivery, taking his tally to 4,192 runs, surpassing Kohli’s 4,188 runs. Rohit Sharma leads the list with 4,231 runs.

However, Babar’s joy was short-lived as Adam Zampa dismissed him in the next over. Babar attempted to step out to Zampa but was bowled after the ball slipped between bat and pad. His departure triggered a collapse, with Pakistan ending their innings at 117 all out. With this defeat, Pakistan had already lost the three-match series to Australia and faced the prospect of a whitewash.

In the previous match, Babar had been heckled by Australian fans at the SCG, who questioned his place in the team due to his ongoing form struggles. Despite the verbal taunts, Babar chose not to engage but was visibly frustrated. His lean patch continues to stir debate over his place in Pakistan’s T20I squad.
