Cricket West Indies (CWI) and CPL management have confirmed that the 13th Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will run from August 14 to September 21, 2025. The tournament will once again avoid any clashes with West Indies’ international fixtures, ensuring the best regional players are available.

Pete Russell, CPL’s chief executive, expressed excitement for the upcoming season. “We are pleased to have collaborated with Cricket West Indies to find a suitable window.” The 2024 season was our most successful yet, and we aim to build on that success in 2025,” he said.
The format will remain the same as in recent years. Six teams will compete in 30 league-stage matches, followed by four playoff games, including the eliminator, two qualifiers, and the final. St Lucia Kings, the defending champions, will return alongside 2024 runners-up Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. The Falcons replaced Jamaica Tallawahs before the 2024 season.
CWI’s acting CEO, Lynford Inverary, highlighted the CPL’s importance to Caribbean cricket. “The CPL plays a crucial role in developing and promoting the game across the region. It remains an integral part of our cricketing ecosystem,” he stated.
The organizers will announce details regarding venues and fixtures in the coming months. Teams will finalize their squads through a draft and pre-draft signings, continuing the established squad-building process. The 2025 edition is set to attract significant attention, with fans eagerly anticipating another competitive season of high-energy cricket across the Caribbean.
