The Champions Trophy 2025 winners will receive $2.24 million along with the trophy on March 9. The runners-up will get $1.12 million, while the semi-finalists will earn $560,000 each. The tournament’s total prize pool stands at $6.9 million, marking a 53% increase from the 2017 edition, which Pakistan won at The Oval.

The competition will feature eight teams, divided into two groups of four. Group-stage victories will earn teams over $34,000 each. The fifth- and sixth-placed teams will receive $350,000, while the seventh and eighth spots will bring in $140,000. Additionally, every participating team is guaranteed $125,000, regardless of performance.
ICC chair Jay Shah highlighted the tournament’s importance, stating, “The substantial prize pot underscores the ICC’s commitment to investing in the sport and maintaining its global prestige.” He emphasized how the event fosters competitive cricket while supporting the sport’s growth and sustainability worldwide.
The tournament starts on February 19 in Karachi, with Pakistan facing New Zealand. India will play their group matches in Dubai due to travel restrictions, with key games against Bangladesh on February 20, Pakistan on February 23, and New Zealand on March 2. If India reaches the semi-finals, scheduled for March 4, and potentially the final, those matches will also take place in Dubai.
Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi will host the matches, marking Pakistan’s first ICC event since the 1996 World Cup. The Champions Trophy will continue as a quadrennial event, with the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy set for 2027 in a T20 format.
