Allrounder Kathryn Bryce will captain Scotland in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE, with her sister Sarah Bryce as vice-captain. in the UAE, with her sister, wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce, serving as vice-captain. This marks Scotland’s debut at the Women’s T20 World Cup, and they are bringing a squad rich in allrounders, including Priyanaz Chatterji, Katherine Fraser, and Megan McColl, in addition to Kathryn.

Head coach Craig Wallace expressed confidence in the squad’s balance and depth, stating, “The make-up and balance of this squad is outstanding. We’ve got match-winners from start to finish, which is the big difference in the evolution of this squad.” He highlighted the consistent performances from all players, which has been a key factor in their recent success.
Scotland qualified for the tournament by finishing as runners-up to Sri Lanka in the qualifier held earlier this year in the UAE. They also delivered strong performances in a tri-series in the Netherlands against the hosts and Papua New Guinea, winning five out of six games. Wallace highlighted the squad’s depth, noting the tough selection decisions and the impressive performances from players who did not make the final cut.
Scotland retained 13 of the 15 players from the qualifier squad, adding offspinner Olivia Bell and former captain Abbi Aitken-Drummond. Additionally, Scotland will compete in Group B against England, Bangladesh, South Africa, and West Indies. They will arrive in the UAE in mid-September for a training camp. Following that, they will play warm-up games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Their opening match is scheduled against Bangladesh on October 3.
