BCCI Complains to ICC Before Pakistan Match; Here’s Why

India’s captain Rohit Sharma raised new injury concerns on Friday during a practice session at Cantiague Park in New York, ahead of the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma, who already had a sore arm from the match against Ireland, took a hit on the thumb from a ball thrown by specialist Nuwan during a practice session.

Following this incident, the BCCI filed an unofficial complaint with the ICC about the practice pitch conditions, according to the latest reports.

The awkward bounce of the track at Cantiague Park, located about five miles from the main venue, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, has troubled many players.

Star batter Virat Kohli also struggled with the bounce during his batting session, though he avoided injury. After the ball hit him, Rohit quickly received attention from a physiotherapist. He continued batting for a short while but eventually left the session early.

This issue is not isolated. Earlier this week, during the low-scoring game between Sri Lanka and South Africa, the ICC expressed dissatisfaction with the drop-in pitch and the poor outfield conditions at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

Additionally, Ireland’s coach Heinrich Malan voiced his disappointment with the wicket during the India vs Ireland match.

Rohit Sharma has recovered and will play against Pakistan on June 9 in New York.
