As of now, 214 cricketers have participated in day-night Test matches, with 114 bowlers among them. Of these, 93 have claimed at least one wicket. Australia’s Dominance in Day-Night Tests: Starc, Lyon, and the Pink-Ball Era

Australia has featured in the most day-night Tests, playing 12 so far, five more than England’s seven. As expected, a legendary Australian quartet dominates the bowling statistics in these matches.

In the table of most wickets in pink-ball Tests, Starc leads with 66 wickets from 12 matches at an outstanding average of 18.71. His strike rate of 36.5 is unparalleled among bowlers with at least 20 wickets, with no other bowler taking wickets as quickly. Lyon, also with 12 matches, is the second-highest wicket-taker with 43 wickets, averaging 25.48. He is the only spinner to have taken more than 20 wickets in this format.

The rest of the top five includes Josh Hazlewood (37 wickets in 8 matches) and Pat Cummins (34 wickets in 7 matches), both Australian fast bowlers, underscoring Australia’s dominance. England’s James Anderson, who has claimed 24 wickets in 6 pink-ball Tests, has the best average among bowlers with more than 20 wickets (16.25). Anderson’s economy rate of 2.12 is the best among all bowlers with over 10 wickets, showcasing his efficiency.

This data highlights Australia’s firm grip on day-night Tests, particularly through Starc’s rapid wicket-taking and Lyon’s contributions as the leading spinner.
