Despite a 20-run defeat against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) enthusiasts thrilled at Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s vintage display. The former CSK skipper, batting at number 8, showcased shades of his former brilliance, effortlessly dismantling the DC attack to compile a rapid 37 off just 16 deliveries, featuring 4 fours and 3 sixes, though it wasn’t enough as CSK fell short of their target.

Fans eagerly awaited Dhoni’s appearance in Vizag, especially after not needing to bat in CSK’s initial fixtures, and he certainly didn’t disappoint. His aggressive strokeplay, particularly against Anrich Nortje, left fans in awe and reinforced his status as a cricketing legend.
Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee weighed in, urging CSK management to elevate Dhoni up the batting order to fully utilize his formidable hitting prowess. Lee emphasized Dhoni’s sharp cricketing acumen and urged CSK to capitalize on his capabilities.
In the match itself, DC posted a competitive total of 191/5, propelled by a superb fifty from Rishabh Pant. CSK’s pursuit faltered, culminating in a total of 171/6, as they now look to regroup for their upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5th, aiming for a swift return to winning ways.
