President Droupadi Murmu honored India’s top-performing athletes with national sports awards in a grand and regal ceremony.

In a splendid ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, President Droupadi Murmu conferred national sports awards upon India’s most accomplished athletes. The event, typically observed on August 29 to mark Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary, was rescheduled due to the Hangzhou Asian Games held between September 23 and October 8 last year.

Amid enthusiastic applause, cricketer Mohammed Shami took center stage, receiving a warm reception. Notable sports personalities, including wrestler Antim Panghal, boxer Mohammad Hussamuddin, and para archer Sheetal Devi, were among the recipients of the prestigious Arjuna Awards.
