Afghanistan and Bangladesh are set to face off in a three-match ODI series in the UAE, starting November 6, 2024. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the schedule through a social media post. All matches will take place in the UAE, one of Afghanistan’s designated home venues due to its excellent facilities and conditions.

Match Schedule:
- First ODI: November 6, 2024
- Second ODI: November 9, 2024
- Third ODI: November 11, 2024
This series carries great significance for both teams. Afghanistan, who have made impressive strides in international cricket, will look to build on their recent successes. They finished sixth in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, with victories against top teams like England, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Additionally, Afghanistan reached the semifinals of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, solidifying their reputation as a rising powerhouse in the sport.
For Bangladesh, the series serves as an essential part of their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. After facing Afghanistan, Bangladesh will tour the West Indies for a multi-format series. Playing in the UAE, with its unpredictable and slower pitches, will offer Bangladesh valuable experience ahead of their future matches. This series will also provide them with an opportunity to refine their squad and assess their readiness for the Champions Trophy, making it a key milestone in their build-up.
