The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the rescheduling of their anticipated all-format away series against Afghanistan, originally slated for July 2024. Initially set to feature two Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is, the series has been postponed to a later date. BCB’s cricket operations chairman, Jalal Yunus, confirmed the decision, citing mutual agreement between the two boards.

Despite the reshuffling, Bangladesh’s 2024 cricket calendar remains packed with engagements. After reducing their Test match count from 12 to 8, the team faces rigorous competition ahead. Following the T20 World Cup 2024, Bangladesh will embark on a two-match Test series against Pakistan, followed by a tour of India for two Tests and three T20Is. Additionally, they will host South Africa for a two-game Test series, and later travel to the West Indies for two Tests, along with three ODIs and T20Is each.

In the midst of their busy schedule, Bangladesh is currently contending with Sri Lanka in a two-game Test series. Despite a loss in the first Test, the team, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, aims to rebound strongly in the second and final match. Held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, both sides are vying for victory as they continue their cricketing campaign.
