England’s spin ace Adil Rashid continued his strong bowling form by delivering his second-best career figures against Oman at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

In the 28th match of the T20 World Cup, defending champions England dismantled Oman’s batting lineup, bowling them out for just 47 runs in 13.2 overs. Rashid led the charge with a superb 4/11, reminiscent of his stellar 4/2 performance against West Indies in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Oman struggled right from the start, managing only 25 runs and losing 5 wickets within the powerplay. England’s bowlers maintained pressure with precise bowling, restricting Oman throughout their innings.
Despite a dropped catch early on, England capitalized on opportunities and Rashid’s skill was evident as he claimed a four-wicket haul, dominating Oman’s lower order. Shoaib Khan was the lone Omani batter to reach double digits.
England’s victory positions them to secure a spot in the Super 8 stage if they convincingly defeat Namibia, pending Australia’s victory over Scotland in their upcoming match.
