Fabio Di Giannantonio’s 2025 MotoGP season began in the worst possible wayβa collarbone fracture on the first day of testing π₯. Now, just 17 days after surgery, the VR46 Racing Team rider is set to return at the Thai Grand Prix πΉπ, though he admits his injured shoulder is far from fully recovered.
π Recovery Challenges & Limited Training
Di Giannantonio’s left collarboneβwhich he had previously undergone surgery on in late 2024βwas fractured in a tricky spot during the Sepang test in February. This forced him to avoid training and focus solely on physiotherapy ποΈββοΈβ.
π£οΈ “I had to be really careful. The plate is placed at the edge of my collarbone, and putting too much stress on it could have required another surgery,” he explained.
π “Most of my time was spent in physio. No gym workβjust recovery.”
Despite this, the Italian remains optimistic:
π₯ “Iβm 95% physically ready, but my shoulder is at 0%. Still, I feel good and motivated!”
π Determined to Race, Despite Weakness in His Left Arm

Although far from peak fitness, Di Giannantonio is confident he will race in Thailand πͺ.
β οΈ “I will miss some power in my left arm, but last year I did seven races with a shoulder that was dislocating on every braking zone. So, no worries!”
π― His goals for the weekend?
β
Complete both races
β
Rack up as many laps as possible

π΄ Ducatiβs 2025 Bike: A Strong Contender?

Di Giannantonioβs injury also meant limited testing time on the new Ducati ποΈ. However, he trusts the GP24-based bike that Ducati has chosen for the 2025 season.
π¬ “Ducati tested a new spec in Sepang, made some changes, and ultimately decided on the best package.”
With Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia leading the development, Di Giannantonio is confident in the decision:
π₯ “Weβre all on the same packageβit seems like the best Ducati bike!”
As Buriram approaches, Di Giannantonio is ready to push through the pain and regain his form π. Can he fight through the setback and make a strong return? Stay tuned! π’π
