Deepti Sharma’s impressive bowling performances in the first two ODIs against New Zealand in Ahmedabad have propelled her to a career-high rating of 687 points in the ICC ODI bowling rankings. This achievement moves her up to No. 2, surpassing Kate Cross and Megan Schutt. She now trails only Sophie Ecclestone, who holds a significant lead with 83 points ahead.

As the ODI series stands level at 1-1 going into the third and final match today, Deepti Sharma has taken three wickets with an impressive economy rate of 3.42. Consequently, this performance has significantly contributed to her rise in the rankings. Additionally, she is ranked No. 3 in the T20I rankings, just behind Ecclestone and Sadia Iqbal.
The India vs. New Zealand series has also seen other players rise in the rankings. Lea Tahuhu has moved up three places to 12th, Amelia Kerr has risen one spot to 13th, and Sophie Devine has made a significant jump of nine places to tie for 30th among bowlers. Unfortunately, Kerr will miss the remainder of the series due to a quadricep tear sustained in the first ODI, which India won.
Devine was instrumental in New Zealand’s second ODI victory, scoring 79 runs off 86 balls and taking 3 wickets for 27 runs. Her performance has helped her rise three spots to eighth among ODI batters. Other notable gains include Kerr (up to 11th), Suzie Bates (joint 15th), and Maddy Green (up seven spots to 18th). For India, Jemimah Rodrigues has emerged as a major gainer among batters, contributing 35 runs in India’s first game win.
Both Deepti and Devine have also made strides in the all-rounders’ rankings, with Devine climbing to No. 7 and Deepti moving up to No. 4.
