The Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Trophy will occur from November 6 to 13 at the Indoor Basketball Court in the GMADA Sports Complex, Sector 78, Mohali. This prestigious tournament will feature top schools from the tricity area competing for the coveted trophy.
Vikramjeet Singh Mamik, an administrator at Vivek High School, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “The tournament will provide a platform for young athletes to shine across three age groups: under-12 boys and girls; under-14 boys and girls; and under-17 boys and girls. This ensures that students from different age groups can compete in their respective divisions, promoting equal opportunities for all.”
With an impressive roster of 50-schools invited, the tournament promises to showcase a wealth of sporting talent from the region. Daily matches will run throughout event, featuring 12 to 14 games each day, organized in an elimination or knock-out format.
The tournament organizers set the total prize pool at ₹2,70,000, creating an enticing incentive for participating teams. Currently, 24 schools have registered, but there is still an opportunity for additional teams to join. Interested parties can reach out to Vivek High School, Mohali, for registration details.
