Amidst India’s intense Test series against New Zealand, young batting star Sarfaraz Khan has welcomed his first child, a baby boy. The 26-year-old cricketer and his wife, Romana Zahoor, celebrated this joyous occasion on Monday, October 21. This week has brought double celebrations for Sarfaraz, who recently scored his maiden Test century, hitting 150 runs off 195 balls in the first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Sarfaraz’s outstanding performance came just two days before the announcement of his son’s birth. His impressive innings, featuring 18 boundaries and three sixes, earned him accolades from the cricketing community, despite India’s loss in the match. His resilience highlighted his ability to perform under pressure.
Excited about the arrival of his baby boy, Sarfaraz shared the news on Instagram, posting two heartwarming pictures: one of himself holding the newborn and another of his father, Naushad Khan, cradling his new grandson. Sarfaraz simply captioned the first image with, “It’s a baby boy,” while Naushad celebrated the new addition to the family with his own post.
Adding to the excitement, Sarfaraz will turn 27 on October 22, making this a memorable week for the talented batsman. As he enters this new chapter of fatherhood, his fans remain hopeful he will maintain his strong form on the field.
Looking ahead to the second Test in Pune, there’s uncertainty regarding Sarfaraz’s spot in the playing XI. While his stellar performance in the first Test strengthens his case, the return of Shubman Gill from injury may complicate the selection. With KL Rahul’s struggles in the opener, Sarfaraz could still find his opportunity against New Zealand’s bowling attack.
