SA20 2025 Season Opener:
The action kicks off with a thrilling clash between the reigning champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), and MI Cape Town (MICT) at St George’s Park. SEC, led by captain Aiden Markram, will look to secure an unprecedented third consecutive title, while MICT’s new star, Ben Stokes, aims to make an impact in his debut season.
Key Fixtures and Matches
Following the opener, Durban’s Super Giants, last season’s runners-up, will face the Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead on January 11. The Capitals will quickly return to action, taking on the Sunrisers the next day. The weekend will feature a high-stakes match between the Joburg Super Kings and MI Cape Town, promising to be a gripping encounter.
Playoff Structure
The 2025 playoffs will see a fresh format with games spread across three venues. The top two teams will compete in Qualifier 1 at St George’s Park, while the third and fourth-placed teams battle in the Eliminator at Centurion. The loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator will face off in Qualifier 2, also at Centurion, for a place in the final at Wanderers Stadium.
