Fresh off their Asia Cup victory, the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team will tour Ireland for two T20Is and three ODIs from August 11-20, as announced by Sri Lanka Cricket. The team will depart for Ireland on August 6.

This tour marks Sri Lanka’s first bilateral series in Ireland, while it will be Ireland’s third bilateral assignment this year and their first at home. Previously, Ireland played against Zimbabwe and Thailand in Zimbabwe and the UAE, respectively.
Ireland remains unbeaten in bilateral series this year, but they face a tougher challenge against Sri Lanka, who have won 18 of their 23 white-ball matches in 2024. Historically, Sri Lanka has an impeccable record against Ireland, winning all three ODIs and three T20Is they’ve contested.
This tour will be the first encounter between the two sides sice the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifier, where Sri Lanka secured a comprehensive victory. They were set to meet during the 2021 ODI World Cup Qualifier, but significant travel restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of the match.
The tour kicks off with the first T20I on August 11 in Dublin, followed by the second T20I on August 13, also in Dublin. The action then shifts to Belfast for the ODIs, beginning on August 16. This three-match ODI series is part of the 2022-2025 ICC Women’s Championship cycle. Sri Lanka aims to continue their strong form and maintain their undefeated streak against Ireland in these upcoming matches.
