England and the West Indies are ready to continue their Test series, with the second Test taking place at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Thursday, July 18. After a heavy defeat in the first Test, the West Indies have announced their playing XI for the second match.

Surprisingly, the West Indies have named an unchanged team for the second Test against England, with Kraigg Brathwaite continuing as captain. Shamar Joseph, injured in the first Test, is now available to play.
Brathwaite stressed the importance of the team scoring more runs after they were bowled out for 121 and 136 in the first Test at Lord’s. He acknowledged that while there were some positives with the bat, it wasn’t enough to win the match.
“It’s pretty simple what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to bat a lot better. We’ve discussed different things we can do better as a team. There are some positives with the bat, but we need to put more runs on the board. It’s simple,” Brathwaite said.

Kraigg Brathwaite (C), Alick Athanaze, Joshua Da Silva (WK), Kavem Hodge, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Mikyle Louis, Kirk McKenzie, Gudakesh Motie, and Jayden Seales.
