Bangladesh has announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States, with the inclusion of experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. The team has named batsman Najmul Hossain Shanto as the captain for the tournament.
Shanto, appointed skipper across all three formats earlier this year, will lead the team amidst speculation regarding Shakib’s availability due to an eye issue. The squad also features pace bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who impressed with his performances in the recent 4-1 series victory against Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh finds themselves placed in Group D of the T20 World Cup, alongside Sri Lanka, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Nepal. The tournament, scheduled from June 1 to June 29, will see Bangladesh kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka in Dallas on June 7.
