After a nail-biting one-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy expressed his unwavering faith in Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s ability to deliver under pressure.
As Bhuvneshwar defended 13 runs in the final over with nerves of steel, trapping Rovman Powell lbw on the last ball, Reddy credited the veteran pacer’s experience and skill for clinching the win.
Reflecting on the crucial moment during the post-match press conference, Reddy revealed. “When I saw Bhuvneshwar was going to bowl, I just knew he had it in him to pull it off. He’s done it countless times before, especially during his prime. That last-ball wicket brought immense joy to the team.”
Reddy highlighted his role in stabilizing the innings after early setbacks, aiming to set the stage for explosive hitters like Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad. He emphasized the importance of building partnerships to enable the middle-order to unleash their full potential.
“In the last couple of matches, we’ve been losing wickets quickly, so my focus is to hold the innings together until the 13th or 14th over. This allows Klaasen to play his natural game without restraint,” Reddy explained.
Recalling his aggressive approach against Rajasthan’s spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the 13th over. Reddy expressed confidence in his ability to take on experienced bowlers.

“Defeating RR, who are leading the points table, is a significant morale boost for us. It proves that we have the capability to compete with the best,” Reddy concluded.
