Gigi Dall’Igna, the general manager of Ducati Corse, emphasizes that addressing the persistent vibration problem is the primary objective for today’s MotoGP Jerez test.
While the vibration issue was not evident in Jerez, Ducati aims to ensure they have solutions in place for the problem that affected riders during the Qatar, Portimao, and COTA rounds.
Dall’Igna discussed the focus of the one-day test, stating: “We have been working over the weekend and continue to address the vibration problem for tomorrow. Even though we didn’t encounter issues here in Jerez, we have specific tests planned for all the new components.”
Regarding the riders using the 2023 machines, including Marc Marquez, Dall’Igna mentioned their involvement in addressing vibration concerns.
He stated: “While there are no significant updates, they too experienced vibration issues. Our aim is to collaborate with them to find solutions.”
The Jerez test follows an exhilarating Spanish Grand Prix where Francesco Bagnaia emerged victorious after an intense battle with Marc Marquez.
Reflecting on the race, Dall’Igna expressed his excitement: “The race was truly remarkable, and I was on the edge of my seat like everyone else. It was one of the best races I have ever witnessed.”
With Ducati riders, including those on 2023 machines, prominently featured at the front during the race, Dall’Igna highlighted the competitive performance of both generations of bikes.
He noted: “The performance between the GP24 and 2023 machines is quite comparable. While we have made improvements this year, last year’s bike also performs admirably, especially here at Jerez, where we did not encounter vibration issues, allowing us to showcase our true performance.”
