Davide Brivio’s Potential Return to MotoGP: Yamaha Beckons?

Speculation mounts about Davide Brivio’s potential pivotal role in MotoGP, possibly with Yamaha.

Reports suggest that Davide Brivio might step into a significant position in MotoGP, potentially succeeding Lin Jarvis at Yamaha, according to Gazzetta.

Brivio previously served as Yamaha’s team manager from 2004 to 2010 and could be in line for a pivotal role as Jarvis’s tenure at Yamaha may conclude after 2024.

Brivio’s potential arrival could play a crucial role in enticing Valentino Rossi’s VR46 MotoGP team to Yamaha as a satellite squad. Despite VR46’s current tie with Ducati, a switch to Yamaha remains under consideration.

Brivio played a pivotal role in persuading Rossi to transition from Honda to Yamaha in 2004, marking the start of an iconic partnership that reshaped MotoGP history.

His successful tenure with Yamaha saw Rossi’s arrival, revitalizing the team’s fortunes after a winless prior season – a situation Yamaha finds itself in currently.

Following his exit from the Alpine Formula 1 team, Brivio’s return to the MotoGP scene was highly anticipated, with initial speculations linking him to Honda, which haven’t materialized. Yamaha now emerges as a potential landing spot for Brivio.

Notably, Brivio guided Joan Mir to the MotoGP title in 2020 during his tenure as Suzuki’s team principal, adding to his illustrious MotoGP track record.
