Another group of FIA member clubs has urged the governing body’s president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, to pursue legal action over recent allegations made against him.
Last month, the FIA Ethics Committee cleared Ben Sulayem of accusations regarding inappropriate interference during Formula 1 race weekends. Since then, several letters from member clubs have been sent to Ben Sulayem, recommending various courses of action.
The most recent letter, composed by representatives of 27 member clubs in the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as the FIA’s sub-region for the Arab Council of Touring and Automobile Clubs, expressed condemnation and disappointment over what they perceive as attempts to undermine the integrity of the FIA leadership. They called for legal action against those responsible for the allegations against Ben Sulayem.

An earlier letter from 33 member clubs representing North and South America also advocated for legal action, while a subsequent letter from 13 European member clubs emphasized the need for a review of the Ethics Committee.
Ben Sulayem has previously communicated to FIA members about targeted attacks against him and the organization. Following the Ethics Committee’s decision to clear him, Formula 1 CEO Susie Wolff announced her intention to pursue legal action against the FIA over a separate investigation involving herself and her husband, Toto Wolff, Mercedes team principal.
The FIA represents 242 motoring and motorsport clubs globally. The recent letters from member clubs reflect both support for Ben Sulayem’s leadership and a commitment to upholding the organization’s integrity.
