In the 21st match of IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans faced off against Lucknow Super Giants at Lucknow. Winning the toss, LSG captain KL Rahul opted to bat first, fielding an unchanged lineup from their recent victory over RCB. Gujarat Titans, coming off a narrow loss to PBKS, introduced BR Sharath for his debut match while Spencer Johnson replaced Azmatullah Omarzai.

LSG’s innings saw Marcus Stoinis shine with his maiden fifty of IPL 2024, contributing 58 runs to their total of 163/5 in 20 overs.
Gujarat Titans commenced their chase with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, exhibiting a blend of caution and aggression. However, LSG’s Yash Thakur‘s timely Yorker shattered Gill’s defense, halting the Titans’ momentum.
As the game progressed, Gujarat Titans faced a collapse against LSG’s spinners, with Krunal Pandya claiming three wickets and Ravi Bishnoi adding one to the tally. Struggling at 92/5 by the 14th over, the Titans found themselves in a precarious position.
Despite a promising start, Gujarat Titans‘ batting faltered, losing seven wickets before crossing the 100-run mark. Rahul Tewatia‘s two runs marked the team’s entry into triple figures.
The match culminated with Gujarat Titans being dismissed for 130 all out in 18.5 overs. This was courtesy of Yash Thakur’s remarkable bowling performance, securing figures of 5/30 in 3.5 overs. As a result, LSG celebrated a historic 33-run victory, marking their first-ever win against fellow IPL debutants from the 2022 season.
