Sri Lanka Cricket is gearing up to host Afghanistan in an exciting three-match T20I series, commencing on February 17 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. Following their triumphant clean sweep in the Test and ODI series against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka is poised for the T20I challenge, albeit without Dushmantha Chameera, who is sidelined due to a quadriceps injury. Binura Fernando steps in as his replacement.

Wanindu Hasaranga leads the squad, with Charith Asalanka as his deputy, maintaining the squad’s continuity from the Zimbabwe series. Sri Lanka boasts depth in both batting and bowling.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan, captained by Ibrahim Zadran, faces setbacks with Rashid Khan’s absence due to recovery from last year’s surgery and Mujeeb ur Rahman nursing a hand sprain. Wafadar Momand stages a comeback, while pacer Mohammad Saleem Safi continues his recovery from a hamstring strain.
The T20I series unfolds on February 17, 19, and 21, with all matches scheduled at 7:00 PM IST. Sony Liv will provide live streaming, and Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Sports Ten 5 HD will broadcast the series in India.
