Paris Olympics Tennis Schedule: When to Watch Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal

The Paris Olympics officially kicks off today, showcasing 32 disciplines and 329 medal events, with tennis set to be a highlight. Key figures in the sport, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, and Andy Murray, will be in action right from the start.

On Saturday, the opening day at Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Carlos Alcaraz will all feature prominently in the tennis schedule. Djokovic will compete solely in singles, while Nadal will participate only in doubles. Alcaraz will play in both singles and doubles.

Nadal and Alcaraz, representing Spain, will team up for the doubles match against Argentina’s Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni. The night session at Court Philippe Chatrier will feature this match.

Nadal’s singles debut is set for Sunday, where he will face Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics. Should Nadal win and Djokovic also secure victory in his match against Matthew Ebden on Saturday, the two rivals could meet in the second round—a potential highlight in what might be Nadal’s final Olympic appearance.

Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, and Nadal, with 22 Grand Slam titles and two Olympic gold medals (singles in 2008 and doubles in 2016).

The day’s action on Court Philippe Chatrier begins with top-ranked Iga Swiatek of Poland, a four-time French Open champion, against Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu. Djokovic’s match against Ebden will follow. Nadal and Alcaraz will then feature in the night session, with the day’s schedule concluding with a match between former No. 1 players Naomi Osaka of Japan and Angelique Kerber of Germany.

At Court Suzanne Lenglen, Jasmine Paolini of Italy, who finished as the runner-up at both the French Open and Wimbledon this year, will face Ana Bogdan of Romania. Carlos Alcaraz’s singles match against Lebanon’s Hady Habib will follow.
