Finally, the wait is over. Team India arrived in New Delhi after a three-day delay on the Caribbean Island due to Hurricane Beryl. According to PTI reports, Rohit Sharma and his team reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence on July 4, 2024, for a special breakfast with PM Modi.
Upon landing in India, cricket fans welcomed Team India at the airport. Earlier reports had mentioned that PM Modi would host the victorious Indian cricket team for a special breakfast along with coach Rahul Dravid and the support staff.
After India’s thrilling victory over South Africa in the World Cup, PM Modi was among the first to congratulate Team India on their historic win.
PM Modi will host the team and likely listen to their experiences following their memorable World Cup victory. After meeting him, Team India will head to Mumbai for a ‘Victory Parade’ arranged by the BCCI, starting from Nariman Point and ending at Wankhede Stadium. The team will be felicitated at the iconic stadium.
The players and staff members will arrive in Mumbai in the afternoon to celebrate the victory with fans. They will participate in a special open bus parade organized by the BCCI. Earlier, Rohit Sharma had tweeted, inviting fans to join the celebration and enjoy the moment.
