Hurricane Warning Strands India in Barbados After World Cup Win

A hurricane warning has left India’s T20 World Cup-winning team stranded in Barbados. Hurricane Beryl (Category 4) is expected to pass by Barbados on Sunday night local time, leading to the closure of the airport since Sunday evening.

The Indian team, currently accommodated at the Hilton Hotel, had planned to charter a flight back home immediately after their victory. However, with the airport shut down indefinitely, their return plans have been disrupted. South Africa, who had also been in Barbados, managed to leave earlier on Sunday.

Additionally, preparations are underway for other upcoming series and tournaments, including the Champions Trophy and World Test Championship final.

While the focus now shifts to resolving the travel arrangements for the stranded team, Shah expressed optimism about India’s future cricketing endeavors and the continued success of the team across formats.
