BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced a massive prize of Rs 125 crores for Team India on Sunday for their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. India triumphed over South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final held in Barbados on Saturday, securing their first T20 World Cup win in 17 years.
Shah’s Announcement on Social Media
“I am pleased to announce Rs 125 crores in prize money for Team India for their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Furthermore, the team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Therefore, congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement!”
This reward is more than six times the amount Team India received from the ICC, which was approximately Rs 20.42 crores, for winning the World Cup.
